No, not really.

This is what makes the net cool.  You can get a mob together -- it
doesn't matter whether it's a mob of politicians or PBM GM's --
and they can't shut someone up just because they don't like what
the person is saying.

I get 50 junk emails a day advertising sex sites and illegal MLMs,
and I can't make a dent in the flood with any number of complaints
or active counter attacks.  You think you're going to get Greg's
access pulled for posting monthly free ads for PBM companies without
Usenet access?  From his current provider(s)?  From MSN, Compuserve,
or AOL?  From Supernews or Zippo or Altopia?

He could be flooding this newsgroup with Nigerian Lotto ads and
you couldn't shut him up.  Get real.

I'm for creating a rec.games.pbm.ads newsgroup.  I'm not up on the
latest protocol for doing this, but I believe someone needs to post
a Request for Discussion (RFD), wait at least 21 days, then post
a Call for Votes (CFV), crossposting the announcements to the
appropriate newsgroups, including news.groups, and keeping a tally
of the votes.  You'll need 100 more YES votes than NO to carry.
What transpires during the discussion period is key to making this
step successful.

One of you bellyachers can prove your worth more than cheap flames
at Greg by reading up on the procedure in news.* and running the
RFC/CFV, or I will do it myself if no one else has by the time I
get back from my vacation.
