FWIW - the latter.  Although my definition of "supporting" is that
they're actually interested enough in the group to firstly post the ads
themselves, and secondly to lurk around and read the replies (if any).

That's my objection to your "I'll post ads for everyone" policy.  If the
moderators of all 300 games on your list were to turn up in the group and
post an ad every couple of months, sooner or later they *would* get drawn
into the discussion as well.  300 more regulars (or even irregulars) -
excellent news.  You with 300 different hats on - not a good plan.
