My $.02: If the group decides that periodic ads are allowed (under whatever
conditions) then yes, I think they do deserve a fair shot. However I think the
fact that they *can* post ads gives them all a fair shot. I don't think any
company should have ads posted for them just because they appear on the PBM
List *unless* they request it.

I realize that some companies are uncomfortable with Usenet, but if they're
going to exploit this medium in their business, they need to get familiar with
it, not have someone else do their work. Usenet is not that hard. Any company
can set up to at least send/receive mail, have a web site, and post for a
minimal monthly charge, and there are about a billion books out there that
explain the ins and outs of the Internet and Usenet.

Guys, hate to say it, but this whole argument about who said what is
pointless. Why not both just drop it or take it to email? Personally I don't
think there are any masses out there :)

On a different note: Greg, what happened to the PBM List posts? I haven't seen
them in a while. Are they still happening? Will they be back?
