Galaxy Game Starting at Galactic Traveller From: jacko@jacobean.demon.co.uk (Jacko) Date: Sat, 05 Jul 1997 00:00:00 +0000 Hi All, I'm about to start hosting my second Galaxy Game and I am looking for players. I will be using Frans Slothouber's excellent Galaxy Variation - Galaxy Next Generation or GalaxyNG. For those of you who don't know it, this is based on standard Galaxy V3.52, but with a few differences. You can check out this variant for yourself in the section dedicated to GalaxyNG on the Galaxy page in my website: Galactic Traveller http://www.jacobean.demon.co.uk/gtrav.html This also has a link to the authors website. The game will run twice a week, on Tuesday and Friday nights. There will be order checking. However, the game will run on my Linux Box over a dial-up internet account and so order processing will take place a set times during the day rather than continuously (for those lucky people who have permanent connections). Further, the server will be unattended during the weekdays because I work away from home. I will be able to login to it remotely to fix problems, but major problems will be dealt with at the weekends. My first game has been running for about 20 turns now without serious problem. Although the server will be unattented during the week, you will still be able to contact me daily by email. There will be thirty players for this game and you will each have one homeworld of size 1000 and two of size 400. Interested? If you are interested in playing please email me with 'Join Galaxy' in the subject line. Please let me know your galaxy experience. -- So long and thanks for all the fish ... -= Jacko =- Galactic Traveller The UK Resource for Interstellar PBEM Games http://www.jacobean.demon.co.uk/gtrav.html Up
