Then you are arguing against a notion that I have not advanced.  The
majority supports some type of change.  The majority want to see limited
ads in this newsgroup.  The majority want to see a FAQ that reflects more
of the current feelings, rather than an outdated tradition that hardly
anyone follows.  Those are things that I can back up with numbers, and all
you can do is backpeddle.
  Now, if you are tired of being accused of things that you feel you are
not doing, then learn to take a stand, and defend it.  Don't state
something, then refuse to defend it, or outright say that it does not mean
what the words say.  You have written me exactly One (1) piece of e-mail
that was clear, concise, and laid out your exact position with no
quibbling or hedging.  I appreciate the fact that you did so, because it
finally allowed me to make up my mind about this whole overblown
situation.

Greg, saying that the only way you will change the FAQ is if the formal
voting proceedure for changing a Newsgroup Charter is followed is an
example of refusing to listen.  Making it sound like it's simply me
against you is also a third grade tactic, by the way.
  But, you win.  I can't see the point in continuing this, since it's
basically divisive to the group, and the cure seems to be worse than the
disease.  I think it's a shame that the only recourse to fixing what a
significant precentage (Anyway you look at it) of the newsgroup thinks is
a problem is to tear it apart, and that, Greg, is totally on your
shoulders, since if you unbent just a little, most of this would go away.
