MEPBM FA Riddle From: mchesler@novice.uwaterloo.ca (Mike Hesler) Date: Sun, 27 Jul 1997 00:00:00 +0000 I came across this riddle and have been unable to give a correct responce. Is there anyone out there who has encountered this riddle and successfully answered it? Is there anyone who might have an inkling about what the answer might be? He was grey to most and white to the rest, but to the little host, his other name was best. I've tried 'Gandalf', 'Mithrandir', and even 'Grand' the name the hobbit children gave to him. None of them worked, and I'm beginning to doubt it even refers to Gandalf. The hobbits never called him by any other names, (save Merry and Pippin) and always preffered Gandalf. I've tried searching for someone else in Tolkien's mythology that could fit this description but came up empty. Anyone's insight would be appreciated. -- ----------- Mike Hesler Referenced By Up
