PBeM needs lurkers From: Bob Barrett <rbarrett@neo.nomorespam.lrun.com> Date: Tue, 05 Aug 1997 00:00:00 +0000 The new, free, original, and possibly fun PBeM RPG I'm trying to start is called 4-A Foray: Across Appalachia After Armageddon. WWIII was in 2011, and the adventure is set in 2017. The USA has about 70 million survivors and no federal government. The rest of the details on the scenario and the game can be found at http://www.geocities.com/area51/9679/4a-1.html and the pages which follow it. The first few (coherently edited) chapters of the story are posted there, too. You don't even have to be a lurker to read along. So why be a lurker? I've seen half my original players turn into lurkers or lose e-mail access entirely, so I'm hoping it might work in the opposite direction. Maybe some lurkers will become players later. And you can have fun helping us construct this dismal future world. For example, how will people call long-distance when the phone network is shot full of holes (formerly cities) and all the satellites are knocked out? And who was elected president in 2008, who got us into this mess? This is speculative fiction with something for everyone: mystery, humor, romance, socio-economics, global politics, and lots of action. Lots of characters will bite the dust, so lots of replacements will be needed! I've babbled long enough. Visit the web site now, or you'll always wonder what you missed. You can also find my real e-mail address there, too. Up
