Design for new game - new twist on pbm From: brain-antispam@netbrain.com (Eric Harlow) Date: Fri, 29 Aug 1997 00:00:00 +0000 Hi Folks, I was pointed to this group as a source for some information. I'm a software developer looking to do some development and I started work on a "copyrighted" board game (diplomacy) and they were not happy about it and insisted that I cease development. Rather than stop development, I want to take the code I have and move it to a *new* game that does not infringe on anyone's copyright. I'd like to do something along the lines of risk/diplomacy or a boardgame like third reich - but (and this is the twist) rather than pbm, have it pbw - play by web. My goal is to have a web page (with java) do the work so that moves/orders are easy to write and quick. Plus, the visual interface will make playing more fun. An example (of my now halted development) is at http://www.netbrain.com/~brain/diplomacy although it may be removed soon if AH doesn't like even the shell being on the web. So if you have any suggestions, rules, or just want to assist in the development (game ideas or programming) let me know (brain@netbrain.com) and hopefully we can get this project moving again. -Eric Up
