Delenda: Abuse of dyan powers From: robert@myofb.demon.co.uk (Robert Mole) Date: Sat, 11 Oct 1997 00:00:00 +0000 Open letter to his Holiness Pope Agodeshalf Your Holiness I fear I must report an example of Kimric and or Arforrdan use of dyan powers that I sincerely wish that I would never have to bring to your attention. However due to the seriousness and terrible ramifications arising thereof, I fear I have no other option to bring the matter out in to the open, despite the damage done to the reputation of my people, the dyan. After the battle of Kalebourne it became apparent to me that a number of my troops and those loyal to Magon Barkas and Rudiger Draconfel had been affected by dyan sorcery. To be more specific, I believe that an enemy sorceror had cast a spell that had the effect of impairing their judgements during the battle. Since these men were in positions of some authority, I believe that this interference caused them to make mistakes that directly led to the deaths of Yaro fearing men. As to the identity of this dyan sorceror, there are two possible candidates, the first is Richard de Montague. I would like to state for the record that I do not believe Richard to be capable of such an act for two reasons. Although the fact that he is dyan has long been suspected, he has never made an attempt to develop his abilities. The second reason is that I simply do not believe that Richard is capable of such an act, despite his support for William, I know him to be an honorable dyan who would rather die than use his powers against anyone. The other choice for this miscreat sorceror is one of the Arfordans in the service of Dremford Montgomery, one Kian Tudor, who if memory serves me right, was rumoured to have been a dyan as long ago as EC68. I am aware that rumours are mostly wrong, but in this particular case and give the supporting evidence I am inclined to believe that this one was true. I have ever striven to do Holy Mother Churche's bidding regarding the use of Dyan powers, always obeying the Canon Law and generally seeking to protect and shield those who do not have such talents. However this case has opened my eyse to the fact that not all dyan, or their masters, are quite as honourable. I therefore give notice to the errant sorceror that henceforth I will use my powers to protect all of my troops and those of my allies while in battle. And if we perchance should meet on the field of battle then gird well your sorcery for you will have to contend with me and I can assure you that I am no human to be meddled with without fear of retribution.
