New PBEM game needs attention (and help) From: Robert McAdams <rmcadam@siue.edu> Date: Fri, 31 Oct 1997 00:00:00 +0000 Hello everybody. I am a 20 year old college student and a long-time creator of role-playing games in a variety of formats. Since my sophomore year of high school I have been a Game Master for games of my own creation as well as a few commercially available role-playing games. The two most successful games I have created are the Arkodus Chronicles, a fantasy game with the standard warrior/wizard/dragon and dwarf fare but some interesting twists of my own, and Starship: The Game, in which players command various types of starships and do other science-fiction related things in a storyline of my creation. Both of these games have been immensely popular and I am now preparing to unleash the latter on the world. In the PBEM version of this game (which I am tentatively renaming), players will not be limited to starship commanders. There will be several classes of characters: Starship commander Pilot Special Forces commander Secret Agent Ambassador Mercenary Investigator External Marine etc. The game is ready for a trial run. The purpose of the trial is to work out the kinks in the game; though I have run RPG's for years, I have had limited experience with PBEM games and this will be my first time running one. Although this is a trial, those souls brave enough to join up will be first in line for promotions, better stories, more exciting missions, etc. With any luck, 1998 will see the game ready with all kinks worked out. If you are interested in playing, learning more about the game, or offering suggestions, please e-mail one of the two following addresses: alliancecommand@hotmail.com (for all except Secret Agent applicants) aicdirector@hotmail.com (for Secret Agent applicants) Experienced PBEM RPG players will get first consideration. This is because I will need a lot of feedback during the trial phase from people who understand the ins and outs of the format. If you are not an experienced player, contact me anyway and if I cannot add you immediately, your name will be put on a list for the full version that will hopefully be ready in early '98.
