Delenda From: bb.putney@pandi.co.uk (Internet B@r Putney) Date: Wed, 29 Oct 1997 00:00:00 +0000 A Message from His Holiness Well beloved Children of Yaro, I have, as some of you will be aware, recently surveyed for myself the devastation in Aagar. I am shocked and saddened by the suffering of the citizens of that city, visited upon them by agents involved in the war of sucession. such acts are a terrible tragedy for everyone affected and I would urge all decent Flaminians to join me in condemning such actions. Equally I would call upon upright people to condemn the wanton acts of banditry conducted along the Selyan coast, which invite a widening of this already terrible conflict to include directly all the major powers on Linden today. If this war expands in such a way I know that it will engulf us all. Indeed, if this happens then we may well be considered to have entered the end times predicted in scripture. Already I have heard of a messiah having been born in Aguila. While this tragedy unfolds other ancient disputes which have long simmered under the surface now threaten to boil up. Sadly I have recently discovered that a Kimric Queen has fallen into error, by deviating from the Ishlomite orthodoxy and sanctioning the use of services in the venacular in lands where Holy Chuch has not agreed to its use. This is a serious act, which I believe has endangered the unity of Holy Church. In order to stop this misguided rot spreading further I hereby censure the Queen involved, Queen Guinivere I understand, and will be taking more drastic measures upon my return to Ishlom. Similarly I am censuring the Archbishop of Llandrydded who has allowed this error to proceed unopposed. The fact that much of the civilised world is engulfed in civil strife should not be seen as an opportunity to extend unorthodox and uncanonical practices to draw the faithful into error. Regrettably I have also received evidence that certain Cardinals, they know who they are, have been discussing attempts to subvert the authority of Ishlom to further their own attempts to extend their secular colleagues hegemony across Linden. The unfortunate use of the d'Artois cause to lend apparently legitimate cover to their activities has only deepened the stain upon their souls. I shall be seeking to take fullest action against them as soon as I have returned to Ishlom. They are endangering the souls of the faithful in their charge and their own souls, as well as the sacred untiy of Holy Church under tha aegis of Ishlom - Yaro's appointed vicar on Linden. There have also been accusations levelled that Dyan powers have been used to further the war efforts of certain groups in the Imperial war of Succession. I am pleased to announce that richard de Montagu can be cleared of any suspicion in this regard. However, the recent manouvres of the Kerim army do lead me to suspect the use of supernatural or magical powers to assist them in avoiding battle with the Selyan army. I shall be looking into this in more detail forthwith. Dremford Montgomery and Cian Tudor have yet to answer the charges against them in this regard. In the meantime I would urge Marros Rhos not to sink to using his powers in war. I have also received word that an Hospittaler Knight Commander is actively providing succour to one faction in the war of succession by rebuilding the walls of Corbit, which can only aid those currently holding that illustrious city. If I find that these reports are true then I shall have to take action to rectify the situation. I hope that it is not true. The matter of Robert Babbington's activity in Corbit remains under investigation, though my recent challenge to him to meet my champion on the field of honour will in my view satisfy the needs of a trial by ordeal. My Yaro have mercy on his soul. May the Lil guide us all in the light of Yaro and bless all his faithful servants Ishlom Player note - Dear all, I hope you are all well! Please excuse the rambling tone of this note, Agodeshalf is suffering from one of his bouts of apoplexy at being stuck in an impossible situation....I know where this is leading and look forward to discussing it at the meet. Certainly it is not where I would have wanted to go, but then that is the game for you! With best wishes, Yours ever Greg Up
