Even after successfully casting the spell, before the PC is revealed it gets a 'saving throw' against the true mage rank of the caster. So regardless of your casting percentage, even if it is over 100% with artifacts, your chance of revealing the hidden PC is no greater than the mage rank of your caster. 50 mage, 50% chance; 70 mage, 70% chance. This is the official GSI party line. However, it has been my experience in a couple of games that it is near impossible to reveal hidden PCs early on. What are the odds of a 53 mage failing the saving throw 4 times in a row? That happened to us: successfully cast the spell 4 times but the PC remained hidden. Drew Up
