PBEM: Citadel of Lilies/Vampires From: September Virgin <mouse@network.ucsd.edu> Date: Fri, 07 Nov 1997 00:00:00 +0000 Those Vampires Clans disallowed: no Assamite, Cappadocians, Tremere, nor Tzimisce; rare exceptions exist. ** All others from Vampire: Dark Ages allowable. ** It is a period between the sixth and seventh centuries Common Era. Rome has withdrawn her troops and except for struggling colonies of bullheaded centurions, the great Empire is restricted to the country where Romulus and Remus nested their tribe within the seven hills. The Roman brotherhood of Mithraism is scattered and weak, opening its membership to any gender and any person; now it is a filia. In Europe, the blood-drinking populace were worshipped as gods, their symbol being the "gloaming cup" or the blood rose, a variety of the rose that leaks a scarlet nectar and cannot grow in the wild. This tidy worship has been disrupted before when the Romans invaded; now it has disintegrated again: a cult is seeping up from the Midden Realms, from Constantinian Rome and Free Greece. The name of the cult is Scientology and its "Church of Total Freedom" has infiltrated the Mediterranean locale through criminal activity, both brutal and subtle. The vampires of the glorious port cities southward have escaped whereas landbound kindred have been slaughtered wholesale; for Scientology wishes to be known as the only faith and its invisible leaders understand that the kindred tend to usurp power from any mortal ruler in a city. One shining vale has offered secret sanctuary to all who fear and flee the Church of Total Freedom. One city has been forgotten by history and forgotten by all maps, all notice. The city known as Infanta is blooming under the care of an old vampire who was once a Roman Centurion but now simply gardens the locals and loves them well; so well that his love is returned. He is a Brujah of the Eighth generation from Caine, and generally accounted as a boring but nice fellow. Create your vampire character, send me the history and stats. I will return with the edited version as more seeming in the alternate universe described partially above. You may make changes as we agree upon til the game begins. Only up to seventh generation characters allowed, and if you want to play a nontypical vampire, please expect endless trouble, as exotica tends to draw curiousity and resistance.
