Atlantis 3.0: Times 75 From: Geoff Dunbar <gdunbar@atlantis.prankster.com> Date: Sun, 30 Nov 1997 00:00:00 +0000 Subject: Atlantis 3.0: Times 75 Atlantis 3.0 Times March, 7 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Email admin30@prankster.com with game issues. I'm back from vacation; there doesn't seem to be too much email built up, but I'll answer what there is over the next few days. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Dunster News Report: ********************************************************* Well I have been away for awhile, I haven't had much to write about, but I do read the times every turn. It seems some people want to make my life interesting. Give me a gate number, or map coordinates and I will make yours verrryyyy interesting. Oh, by the way I have a verrry low faction number, which means I have had 74 turns to build. Off in your own little corner with your 18 population centers? Big deal. You haven't been in any of the big wars. So?? You brag of all of your potential. It means nothing if you don't have something to measure it against, does it? Put up or shut up. On another note, Priests of Muldoon, you want to rent some Obse Mages? Drop me an email and we'll discuss the rental of a couple. Mr X of Faction X, you are in violation of the Dunster Charter remove your men or suffer the consequences. If you want to visit Dunster or are looking for an Alliance that has its act together contact me at kgringst@inlink.com Grayson Grand Marshal The Dark Legions (7) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ I would be curious to survey the players of Atlantis 3.0. Who is actively playing the game week by week. Meaning players that are actively conversing and planning their turns with allies, enemies etc. Considering that there were only 11 articles in The Times out of a possible 240 and the lack of correspondence on the players list it makes one wondor. Trying to get one's allies to answer their E-mail has become tedious also. When you ask one direct question to an ally, neighbor or enemy in order to resolve your orders, you expect the answer in at least enough time to send in your orders by Saturday night. Ussually the answer never comes. I will guess that 1 out of 4 players (I'm being optimistic)are still interested in playing on a weekly active scale. Maybe it is just the factions that I am involved with in my immediate area of influence.. I think Geoff ought to raise the per turn fee to 5$, flushing some of the inert factions off the playing field. What alliances out there are still seeking members and if so are they actively playing the game, My faction (well established) is seriously considering a switch. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Chosen of Cthulhu (40): Bravely an Anonymous Faction wrote: > > -Option 1....I have been out in the rural section of the world > without any enemies for 50+ turns with 18 population centers. I'm also not bored. > -Option 2.... Sometimes when you address one faction you are actually > addressing 4 or maybe 14. I know little of "The Chosen of Cthulhu" ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Oh, the irony. Sorry no battle report this week, but next week should have a nice one. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Chronicles of The Tribe A decision was made: We are going full trade. The CEOS had finally overthrown the mages. This is the beginning of a new era for the Tribe, an era of greed and capitalism. Gee, that sounds bad, doesn't it??? Paulo, Parrot-Man of The Tribe (123) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Clan Myhkul (347): The Clan continues to gather strength. Its troops gain new skill in combat, and grow in numbers. But still the Myhkul is unable to equip then with arms and armour to match thier courage and pride. The land seems to promise cattle, horses and grain without any of the iron needed to provide them with gleaming steel. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Gilles, could you pass the tartar sauce? Eating fish again Sven? If its good enough for my men, then it's good enough for me. -'Da Fish ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Megalomantic Midgets (52): Dear TWB If you are bored out in the boonies, why not follow your own suggestion and join us (the 70s), we have plenty of excitement for everyone ! We have gate-colonies all over the place - maybe we are not far from you ! Greetings Megalomantic Midgets, of the 70s Midgets@post8.tele.dk ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The orcs are enjoying a mixture of fat and sugar held together with the minimum amount of flour and cooked in boiling oil. With the price of grain still high the chemists have been directed to formulate a similar food without flour... "Donut!" demanded an orc. "No donuts today.. " explained the shopkeeper, hastily adding "..Try a thick shake instead?" "Yum." said orc, slurping greedily. Meanwhile, the elves are eating their sprouts and drinking mineral water. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Plase Geoff Produce a Grafical interface !! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Grand Assembly of Learned Elders (GALE) If you have any questions about GALE or if you're interested in joining the largest and most resourceful alliance in Atlantis, please contact me at m96thd@student.tdb.uu.se. Both Trevor (Golden Empire) and myself have written graphical front-ends for Windows 95. You can find links on the Atlantis home page. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Black Hawk Society No news this week. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Priests of Muldoon (79): *Births - Deaths - Mergers* A change of name and purpose for the Priests of Muldoon. They have joined forces with the former Mr X to form a new alliance. Any questions on foreign policy should be addressed to the former Mr X at bigd@meepmeep.demon.co.uk. (The Grey Wolf Clan need not fear that we'd forget to carry on killing them though... that's one purpose which we *will* be carrying forward into future plans.) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ BRD Industries (155): The Alliance of Independent Factions, Blue War Division, is pleased to announce the successful launch of Operation Hammer. This offensive is intended to recapture the tri-cities of Penhalolen, Lurkabo and Drymen, which were taken from us by the perfidious Idiot Proof Clan. ;\ Despite having to delay the festivities to wait on some tardy mages (is there any other kind?), the valiant AIF soldiers put a major hurting on the troops of the IPC, slaughtering more than 5000. AIF casualties were around 2600. AIF commanders expect to fininsh off the leftovers this turn. Elsewhere, the AIF finished mopping up operations against IPC in and around Lagos. Another AIF army took Cana, and moved on Sarab, but were stopped short of their objective by still more IPC cannon fodder. The IPC was successful in driving the AIF from three towns, but the AIF expects to recapture them soon after the completion of Operation Hammer. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Up
