The rules say a church oriented pl ayer should tithe at least 10% of his production a tur This is one silver talen t. It should follow that if a player spends abouthis much on the military or Br ead and Circuses or terror it should suffi to maintain control. One might expe ct that the Church, being able to thaten eternal punishment for rebels and with its own local network of infoers (so to speak), might be more effective than a bread and circus bribe maintaining control. Therefore youd probably have to spend more than one lent to retain control, maybe two or three talents, just to make sure. In any se spending NOTHING is a sure recipe for disaster.Remember, if you dont have forest foraging your armies cannot enter forest unless there is a road or you bring a supply train with you.
