Atlantis 3.0: Times 74 From: Geoff Dunbar <gdunbar@atlantis.prankster.com> Date: Sun, 23 Nov 1997 00:00:00 +0000 Subject: Atlantis 3.0: Times 74 Atlantis 3.0 Times February, 7 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Email admin30@prankster.com with game issues. In case there is any confusion, next turn is scheduled to run as usual, despite the Thanksgiving holiday here in the U.S. However, I will be out of town for the weekend, so any problems that I can't attend to remotely may result in a delay. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Clan Myhkul (347): The City fell. The attack was lead by units larger and more well trained than the Cohorts of the Clan. But not by so much that they could never be matched. Thier equipment would be much harder to equal. Both will be done! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Global Warming. "Things are sure hotting up" ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Hmmmmmm.....so many choices. 1) For being so incredibly bored out in the boonies one would think a few battle reports would be intresting. 2) Naturally all Atlantis factions aren't intrested in the all the times postings. There is an order option called NOTIMES. Use it. 3) Identify your faction name and I'll make things intresting for you. -Option 1....I have been out in the rural section of the world without any enemies for 50+ turns with 18 population centers. As stated it does have its advantages, giving a faction's mages, production and troops time to attain a more than respectable level of prowess . If I am bored it is because we have not had any conflictsyet. -Option 2.... As the Megolomantic Midgets commented, I do admit the worthy articles in the Times are slim these days and if you wish to take up half the content with a battle report between you and whoever then so be it. -Option3...."Identify your faction name "....... Taking such exception to a passing comment in the Times and then making threats to a faction you have no knowledge of is arrogant at best. Sometimes when you address one faction you are actually addressing 4 or maybe 14. I know little of "The Chosen of Cthulhu" but you must not have enough enemies or confident that you can take on as many foes as you wish. All you really know about other factions are the ones that are: allied to you, post in the times or are in the immediate vicinity. Ever wonder what the rest of the "other" factions are up to?? We have developed our magic, production, as well as our military resources. We just don't have those assets eaten up by warfare among huge alliances. "and I'll make things intresting for you"......Your low faction number and combined alliance resources would make it very foolish to travel long distances en masse to engage you on your own territory we certainly could contribute greatly through gating resources to your enemies immediately. Perhaps they(The 70's??) are looking for a few good men, doublebows, magical items, cash or other resources that have been itching to see some action, then things would be more interesting for you also. Possibly I would get an appreciation for those long drawn out battle reports then. Your confidence may preclude you making a wise decision in this area. One nice thing about The Times is it is a great equalizer. A newer as well as an established faction can address the players of A3 at the same level. TWB ; #end ; ; ; ; ; ; ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Please Geoff Produce a Grafical interface !!!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Chosen of Cthulhu (40): I congradulate the 70's they suprised me and killed a balloon and two galleon loads full of nice troops (Just a drop in the bucket, but its difficult to get troops that far away from our taxation and production sites). I expected something, but not three powerful mages waiting three turns for my ships to leave the exit city. Its not the way I would have done it since I hate mages to miss study time, but it worked. That what I get for not having a longboat handy to scout first. Dworkin (10899) attacks Unit (43784) in ocean (43,71) in Atlantis Ocean! Well Gilles, that depends. But it just may be that we'll see some changes to the structure of the Flying Fish. Oh, any details? Not yet Gilles. -'Da Fish ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Nothing new to report. All is quiet in Little Eden. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Chronicles of The Tribe The time of the hard choice is close: should The Tribe simply kill its last mage to become a full-trade enterprise??? He's such a nice guy... Paulo, Parrot-Man of The Tribe (123) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Deus ex Machina sucks ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Grand Assembly of Learned Elders (GALE) We're pretty unimpressed by Nameless' feeble attempts to interfer with the ongoing IPC/AIF war. What's the matter, Davros? Can't you take us all alone no more? You're welcome to send more stal/balr mages to death though if you think it's benefitial for your alliance. If you have any questions about GALE or if you're interested in joining the largest and most resourceful alliance in Atlantis, please contact me at m96thd@student.tdb.uu.se. Tomaz Roses On White Lace (91) GALE Grand Elder ------------------------------------------------------------------------ I've never been this close to a Balrog before. They are BIG. With the right commander, this guy would be a one monster army. I wonder how good his eyesight is? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Up
