Dragonlance the Fifth Age: Mini Adventure From: Daniel Phillips <philli@ix.netcom.com> Date: Mon, 15 Dec 1997 00:00:00 +0000 You have been invited by High Thane Grenach to visit Finbardlin, a dwarven kingdom beneath the Astivar Mountains. But what would the dwarven king want from you? Certainly this is not a happy-go-lucky get together-- the letter sent to you sounded much too serious for that. But what could it be, then? This game is based on Dragonlance: the Fifth Age. I just recently bought a SAGA Fate Deck, and never heard of Dragonlance: the Fifth Age up until now. I've already searched the web and guess what? I only found a few pages pertaining to the game. So any info on how the gods were exiled and all that would help. I've read the rules booklet from the beginning to end (only 16 pages!) already. As far as the rules go, I understand the game pretty well. As my first Fifth Age game, I'd like to test my knowledge of the rules and how well I can run a pbem game. If in- terested in playing, please email me. Be coming up with a back- ground for your character and come up with basic strengths and weak- nesses. I'm not a very picky person, so chances are, you're likely to get picked. Others will probably play in future games. If you don't know how the Fifth Age Rules work, don't worry. As far as I've seen its not hard at all. Instead of using dice, GMs and players use cards. This is not a CCG game, so there is only one deck to play with. How to play a card game through email without violating precious copyright laws? Luckily, there's not much to a card. Each card is divided into eight suits: Shields, Arrows, Helms, Swords, Moons, Orbs, Hearts, and Crowns. Art is in the mid- dle, and the card's name is at the bottom. When I mail you your hand I'll simply say 8 of swords, 2 of hearts, etc. I'll go more in detail with the rules if you get picked. Oh yeah, and I highly encourage you to go out and buy yourself a Fate Deck. They run at about $10.00 and don't even have to be used with Dragonlance: the Fifth Age. But if you're really into role- playing and Dragonlance, I believe I saw a Fifth Age boxed set at my local bookstore.
