2 openings in Alliance PBeM From: Robert McAdams <rmcadam@siue.edu> Date: Mon, 09 Feb 1998 00:00:00 +0000 Hello! I am the creator of a relatively new PBEM game called Alliance. Set in the distant future, it is the story of a small band of planets struggling against a powerful interstellar empire. As the weaker neighboring worlds fall to the empire's gargantuan fleets, the Alliance - officially the Orion Arm Alliance of Planetary Republics - must face one of the most powerful enemies it has ever known. There is a lot more, however, to deal with. The Alliance is struggling to pull itself out of the aftermath of the Machine Wars, two bloody conflicts in which more than 85% of the Alliance's population was annihilated... The worlds... Jabanica, home of the galaxy's most elite intellects. The descendents of the once powerful Ziron, the Jabanicans may bring to the Alliance its one hope, that of technological superiority over the oppressive Olandarians. Delpac, home of the impressive Delpaci. While intellectually below the galactic average, these proud warriors have a cunning in battle that few have matched. Earth. Home of a race perpetually walking the line between power and devastation. The Alliance's second largest space force is based here. Cohaleon. Thousands of years ago, a small number of humans were abducted by the Ziron and genetically altered. They eventually came together on this world, which gets its name from the Ziron word for United. There is a lot more to look at if you come visit the Alliance Command homepage (address below). Where you fit in... I am looking for two players. One will be a starship commander, the other either a pilot or a special forces team leader (to be determined by the player). The Alliance is at war with the Olandarians. This game has been in existence since October of last year, but until the middle of January it was in a trial phase. Now most of the problems have been worked out, we have successfully reached turn 4, and we are ready for new players. This game is free. There is no software to download. You do not have to have access to the World Wide Web to play. All you need is e-mail and about an hour of spare time every week (a little more will allow you to really get into the nitty gritty). If you have access to the WWW, check us out: http://members.tripod.com/~AllianceCommand There is also an extensive reference material you might want to look at: http://www.siue.edu/~rmcadam/AE If you cannot access the web, but are interested in finding out more, contact me at rmcadam@siue.edu Up
