Another option is a company called Esosoft (www.esosoft.com). They offer
several services, including a Mailing List Service were they will set you up
with a Majordomo mailing list, give you the instructions to run the admin for
it via email. While not free, this service is real close at $5.00 per month
($4.00 per month if you do not want them to maintain an archive of the list).
Plus if you're willing to pay for a full year at once they only charge you for
ten months.

So my list cost only $40.00 for this past year, with great email service and
support from Esosoft. They also set up a mailing list of their own for list
owners (you must be an Esosoft customer to join) and this support group is also
great at answering questions and offering ideas about running a mailing list.
All in all the best $40.00 I've ever spent on an Internet related service.
