Range Wars Old West RPG From: rpg@cyberhighway.net (Roaming Panther Game Co.) Date: Thu, 12 Mar 1998 00:00:00 +0000 Range Wars" is an interactive role playing game where each player is a character in the American West after the Civil War. The game takes place in the mythical "New Texazona Territory" which is loosely based on West Texas, New Mexico and Arizona. The players live their lives, experiencing the Old West as it was (and as it could have been) participating in cattle drives, ranching, gold and silver mining, trapping, buffalo hunting, running a livery stable, general store, trading post, saloon, gambling hall, or "House of Negotiable Affection." Whatever they want to do. Players begin at the little town of "McCleves Ferry" with a small grubstake and from there attempt to do whatever they please. They can even run for Sheriff or become an outlaw. Theres a weekly newsletter, "The Texazona Times" which chronicles their actions. If the life of a settler isnt appealing, you can be a "Noble Savage" and hunt buffalo bareback, live in a tepee, or raid the pale faces for fun and profit. Each individual player turn consists of a packet in which the player tells the referee what his actions for the turn are, how he is outfitted with equipment and possessions and how he spends his money. The turns are processed weekly and the referee will provide at least a one paragraph story about what has happened to the character in the meantime. The Rules are FREE for the asking, as are your first three turns. Up
