free PBEM gaming aid From: zirto@indepth.com Date: Sun, 19 Apr 1998 00:00:00 +0000 For those who have not run across it, check out the V_MAP home page. http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/6599 This free Windows 95/NT program is a generic graphical gaming aid that allows gamers to see maps and counters as opposed to pages of hex or grid coordinates. Gamesets are easy to make and require no special software (you can use Paint Brush and Notepad if you wanted.) Many gamesets are already available (OGRE/GEV, Deep Space Oblivion 6000, Battle for Moscow, Chitin:I, Warp War, just to name a few) Intended mainly for head-to-head gaming or as a referee to the players update, continued development will see in-game comments for each unit (released very soon), mutli-player support for hidden or disable units, and transparent bit masking (for developers that want to see space ships or creatures and not counters of them.) V_MAP is and always will be free. If you have any questions or are interested in porting V_MAP to other platforms (Mac/X-Windows/etc), please drop me a line at: zirto@indepth.com -- TAZ -----== Posted via Deja News, The Leader in Internet Discussion ==----- http://www.dejanews.com/ Now offering spam-free web-based newsreading Up
