I'm curious: why would anyone with a computer want to go postal instead of
email?

I'm sure there are people without computers who would be interested, but they
wouldn't be reading this posting.

You appear to have a computer, and to have an interest in this idea, so there
must be some explanation, I'm just wondering what it is.

Email is fast and free, postal mail is slow and costs for paper, envelopes, and
postage.  What am I missing?  I know there are people who have to pay for
email, but more than the cost of stuff and stamp?  Gotta be over 50 cents a
message, yes?

I really am interested in the topic, since I'm still in search of a practical
substitiute for tabletop gaming, which just doesn't seem to fit into my life
anymore.
