Is Odyssey Dying? From: bergjeff@erols.com Date: Thu, 11 Jun 1998 00:00:00 +0000 I signed up to play in an Odyssey game via Gamer's Den (www.den.com) several months ago. And I am still waiting for enough people to sign up for the game to start. Has the PBEM public lost interest in this game? I recognize that these closed games could go on for well over a year, and that existing players may already have several games running. Perhaps all the available Odyssey players have their hands full with these other games and do not want to commit to another one. I suppose this is a dissadvantage of closed end type games (and this dissadvantage is apparently magnified by the fact that Gamer's Den does no advertising to get new players into the game). Are there other Odyssey players out there that can enlighten me on this issue? Is it inevitable that with closed ended games that interested players hit a saturation level? Or is it an issue of Odyssey not having a large enough player base? Or is it an issue that the game is no good relative to other stuff out there? Or are players waiting for a new Odyssey module to come out before starting another game? Or are players waiting for the rumored new front-end program for Odyssey? Let me know. Should I hold my breath? -----== Posted via Deja News, The Leader in Internet Discussion ==----- http://www.dejanews.com/ Now offering spam-free web-based newsreading Up
