The main, but perhaps not central, plotline is the search for the eight Warrior Masks. PCs write in Role Playing chapters which are usually 3/4 to 2 1/2 pages. Successful role plays and character development result in higher levels being achieved, but this does not mean that if a PC sends in eight RPs in two days that they'll shoot up. It is as much quality as quantity. The GM will write RPs that direct the storyline in one direction or another. GMs also write Crucial Battles, which are important and significant fights between two or more parties of one or more. ________________________________________________________ DARCAI Much of the story takes place on rooftops, as that is the chosen mode of travel among the higher races. They leap from roof to roof using strength, endurance, and agility. All PCs except for a select few with a good reason, have a home in some building. Often in lofts or attics due to their proximity to the skyline. Such places range from abandoned cathedrals to busy whore houses. GMs must approve these locations. The city is divided into nine sectors, and are arranged in a square. For a map, simply look at your numeric keypad. PCs can often try to take control of a 7 8 9 sector for various reasons. 4 5 6 1 2 3 ________________________________________________________ ABILITIES Abilities are given based on level and in categories of race and class. So an Angel Illusionist might acquire the skills 'Float' and 'Smoke' at level 2. Such abilities are able to be used in RPs and in Battles. Fighting technique does not add abilities but does determine what a battle will look like. The outcome of a Crucial Battle is decided by the writer, but levels factor in heavily. A level 7 PC will rarely beat a level 35 PC. ________________________________________________________ SYSTEM .New Players First of all, when a new player joins, their info is sent to all members, including race, class, technique, and home. If the new PC has requested it, and a current player is willing, the latter can take the prior under their wing as an apprentice. This is also announced. This can be a very good way of getting a new player involved in plotlines and feuds very early on. .RPs Any player can send in an RP at anytime. Once the GM has a chance to read it and catalog it, they will send it out. If for some reason it is unsatisfactory, the GM will quickly respond explaining the reason. RP's should generally be sent as attached text files. These are generally compiled by the GM and redistributed. Each RP text file should be headed with the PCs name (real or character's) and numbered. .Chats By invitation from GMs or other PCs, players can participate in chaperoned chats. These chaperones, usually GMs, can save the buffer and summarize it to send out to all players. .Crucial Battle System Hopefully, in the future, a battle system for chats can be instituted. Up
