The Saratoga's Gunners shot down 48 of the 50 Rebel Gecko spacecraft that attacked us, while the remaining two somehow escaped unharmed. Back on the main subject of last week's edition of Terran Affairs, the "device" (onslaught equal to an 8-kilometer-long asteroid impact) is being prepared for launch. I have just been notified that the launch is scheduled for one half-hour from now. Pre-flight checks are underway as I speak. I asked Admiral McFlattery what his opinion of the Brogians was and he replied, "They are a bunch of leathery-skinned savages that f*cked with the wrong species!" I failed to pay taxes because I was low on funds and using all i had to buy cargo. I am now #10 on the demerits list. This is a point of pride for my pilot being on one of the lists and I don't mind having the demerits charged against me. If they aren't currently, a pilot should acquire more demerits for piracy and swindling. Since a man who has failed to pay his taxes for 10 turns is not as "bad" as a pirate who has attacked 10 ships. Assuming that a ship attack accrues one demerit per instance. A: Although I will not say how many demerits one gets when he attacks a ship, it is far more than just one... Besides, although piracy is frowned upon by The Empire, tax evaders piss them off even more, since even the worst and most dastardly pirates usually pay their taxes on time. Go figure... Q: Since guild dues are based on cash and worth, I assume that they continue to increase over time as a merchant becomes more successful and powerful. Is there a maximum limit that a guild member has to pay for his dues? A: Guild Dues have recently been set to a maximum of 12,000 QPs to appease some of the more successful members from having to pay increasingly higher and higher fees.
