GP-End of Argument! From: kmgraphiks@aol.com (KMGraphiks) Date: Tue, 28 Jul 1998 00:00:00 +0000 Well, this has probably gone far enough. The editorial policy of The PBM Report will not be influenced by threats or false accusations of bias. BUT in the spirit of fairness I would like to offer a concession to the players of GP. Below, in my outline for the GP Update article I've mentioned the 1992 controversy as generically as I possibly can. I can guarantee that the first two paragraphs will be printed exactly as seen here. This is not to say that I've changed any of my opinions as posted over the last few days. And I still believe certain GP players should join Overreactors Anonymous. From the beginnning I've said the 1992 controversy would just be used as a historical footnote. Well here it is, as bland and generic as I could ethically make it. Other than this there's nothing more I can do. The rest is up to the GP players. If you have a paragraph or two to say about the game then email me with your comments by August 10th or so. ******************* Galactic Prisoners - An Underground Phenomena? Ed Grandel launched his open-ended science fiction power game, Galactic Prisoners, way back in 19??. Over the years it has attracted hundreds of players, many still playing today. But, if you have joined the PBM hobby in the last 5 years you probably know next to nothing about the game. The moderator seems to have shied away from publicity the last six years, possibly because of a few altercations with Flagship magazine back in the early '90s. Has this 'underground' status hurt the game in any way? It appears not. The current player base is unknown but appears to be plenty to provide a full-time living for it's moderator these many years. Current players can be identified by their fervent loyalty to the game and Ed Grandel.
