As the US Flagship editor at the time of this incident, I can honestly say
there was no vendetta against Grandel or Galactic Prisoners.  I simply put a
Letter to the Editor from a player who's bad comment consisted of saying he
found the game too simplistic for him.  I then received a letter from Ed
Grandel's son (a lawyer) threatening a law suit if we did not retract the
letter and appologize. I then printed this letter in its entirety with
Flagships defense of its actions.

Apparantly the other evil deed we did was fail to correct the turn price in our
mega listing of PBM games at the back of each issue.

The idea that Flagship or myself had it in for Grandel as some people have
posted is pure nonsense.  I knew of the game and had read the rules.  I don't
think I ever played the game (after 28 years of PBMing its hard to remember
everything you've played) but if I did I have no recollections pro or con.
Prior to the legal threats, I had no opinion either way on Grandel or the game.
